Mission of the Spirit

The Holy Spirit is here to GUIDE and EMPOWER us to do the will of God.
[Matthew 28:16-20] Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. [17] When they saw him, they worshiped him--but some of them doubted! [18] Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. [19] Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. [20] Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
The primary work of the Holy Spirit is to POINT people to JESUS.
[Acts 1:6-9] So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, "Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?" [7] He replied, "The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. [8] But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere--in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
The Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus by CONVICTING them of their sins.
[John 16:8-15] And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God's righteousness, and of the coming judgment. [9] The world's sin is that it refuses to believe in me. [10] Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more.
The HS doesn't point out sin to bring CONDEMNATION, but to bring FORGIVENESS.
UNBELIEF is what separates people from God.
[Matthew 5:20] "But I warn you--unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
[John 15:26-27] "But I will send you the Advocate--the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me. [27] And you must also testify about me because you have been with me from the beginning of my ministry.
God uses us to ACCOMPLISH His work.
