What’s First

Sermon Notes

[Matthew 6:33 NIV] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

When you put God FIRST He will help you with EVERYTHING else.

[Revelation 2:1-5 NIV] "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. [2] I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. [3] You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. [4] Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. [5] Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

You can SERVE God and still NOT put Him first.

[Matthew 10:37-38] "If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. [38] If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.

Your day-to-day choices will REFLECT your TOP priorities.

Everything else falls into place when God is the first PRIORITY.

Our BUSYNESS may be keeping us from what is important.

[Ecclesiastes 12:1] Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, "Life is not pleasant anymore."

Put God as a priority before you get OLDER.

God wants to be a priority in your EVERYDAY life!

[Mark 1:35] Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.
