Peace For The Past

Sermon Note

[Isaiah 9:2] The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.

God came for those living in DARKNESS.

[Romans 3:23] For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard.

If Jesus hadn't come there would be no HOPE.

Zechariah 3:1-5 CSB Then he showed me the high priest Joshua standing before the angel of the Lord, with Satan standing at his right side to accuse him. The Lord said to Satan: “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! May the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”Now Joshua was dressed with filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. So the angel of the Lord spoke to those standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes!” Then he said to him, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with festive robes.” Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So a clean turban was placed on his head, and they clothed him in garments while the angel of the Lord was standing nearby.

God's forgiveness is more powerful than the ACCUSATIONS of the devil.

We are all GUILTY until made innocent.

[Isaiah 9:6-7a] For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. [7] His government and its peace will never end.

Only the Prince of Peace can bring PEACE in the middle of CHAOS.

[Luke 1:78-79] Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, 79 to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.”

Because of God's MERCY we can experience peace.

God loves to use SCARRED people.
