In The Beginning

Sermon Note

Believing something without EVIDENCE is a RELIGION.

True SCIENCE helps us learn more about God and the universe that He created.

[Genesis 1:1-5] In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [2] The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. [3] Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. [4] And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. [5] God called the light "day" and the darkness "night." And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day.

The focal point of the Bible is JESUS.

[Job 38:4-7] "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. [5] Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? [6] What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone [7] as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?

Our universe is a precise CLOCK that keeps perfect TIME.

[Hebrews 3:4] For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.

It takes more faith to believe in a universe made by CHANCE than one made by a CREATOR.

[Romans 1:20] For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

Even claiming that there are laws in the universe demonstrates a need for a “LAWMAKER.”

[John 1:1-4] In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He existed in the beginning with God. [3] God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. [4] The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

Only God has the power to give something LIFE.

[Ephesians 2:4-6] But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, [5] that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!) [6] For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
