The Table

Sermon Notes

[Psalm 23:1-6 ESV] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. [2] He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. [3] He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. [4] Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Even though the ENEMY is present God is still at WORK.

[John 10:10-11] The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. [11] "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.

Even in the middle of danger God is PROVIDING for His people.

God is INVITING us to be at His TABLE.

God has ANOINTED us and EQUIPPED us to accomplish His work.

[Psalm 37:25] Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.

God provides ABUNDANTLY for His family.

[Luke 14:21-23] "The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, 'Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.' [22] After the servant had done this, he reported, 'There is still room for more.' [23] So his master said, 'Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.

There is ROOM for YOU.
