Mysterious Ways
Sermon Note
[Romans 11:33] Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!
There is no way we can know EVERYTHING about God.
[Isaiah 55:8-9] "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the LORD. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. [9] For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
God isn't trying to HIDE from you.
God is always true to His PROMISES.
[2 Peter 1:3-5] By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. [4] And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. [5] In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises.
God works through PEOPLE like you.
[John 14:12] "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
Everything God does is GOOD.
[Psalm 107:1 NLT] Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
God wants to REVEAL Himself to you.
[Philippians 3:8-11] Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ [9] and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith. [10] I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, [11] so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!
