5-5-5 Challenge

It is so important to spend time with God!
Just like any relationship, it takes time to get to know someone. The more you spend time together, the closer you'll become! So when you spend time with God, you’ll get to really know Him and getting to know God personally is life changing!

But sometimes it is hard to start or it looks intimidating or feel like too much of a time commitment. Thats where the 5-5-5 Challenge comes into play!

The 5-5-5 Challenge

Set aside a time every day to spend 15 minutes with God. It can be while you have your coffee in the morning or before you relax for the evening. But make Him a priority in your every day. Constancy is Key!

Read

Take just 5 minutes to read what God has written for you and see what He has to say to you today! Read about His promises to you, what He loves and see how He’s proven Himself faithful in amazing ways. Many people wonder why God doesn’t speak to them, but we believe that God will usually speak to us through His Word.  If you don’t know where to start, check out our Daily Bible Reading Plan.

Pray

Now it’s your turn to talk to Him. Take 5 minutes to talk to God. Nothing is too small, silly or inconsequential to Him. On the flip side, no question is too hard for Him or emotion too much for Him to handle. Bring it all to Him, you can’t scare Him off. He loves you and wants to hear your heart on everything you feel. The Bible says the Lord’s ears are attentive to our prayers. He’s listening.

Listen

This is probably the most important part… Give Hi 5 minutes of your time to listen to what God has to say back to you. A lot of times people read the Bible, pray and then leave! They don’t give God the chance to reply to everything they just told Him. It’s like telling your friend something and then walking away! Allow God to have a dialogue with you

Try the 555 challenge for a month and we believe that it can begin to transform your life. The purpose of this challenge is not to get all your prayers answered or get the answers to your questions (though those things do happen!) but it's to create a real and personal relationship with God. The goal here is to get to know WHO God is, not just ABOUT Him. It's not about what we can get, but about building a strong relationship with Him.

We have created a Daily Bible Reading plan that we would love for you to use. There isn’t anything magical about it, but it will help you to read God’s Word daily by sending that day’s portion of Scripture to your inbox. Many people complain that they don’t read the Bible because they don’t know where to begin, but this might help you start!
