Our Daily Bread
Sermon Notes
The goal of prayer is to get CLOSER to God not to get things.
God's BLESSINGS don't always come in the way that we WANT.
[Matthew 6:9-11 NIV] "This, then, is how you should pray: " 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, [10] your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. [11] Give us today our daily bread.
God cares about your PRACTICAL needs.
[Exodus 16:4-5] Then the LORD said to Moses, "Look, I'm going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day. I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow my instructions. [5] On the sixth day they will gather food, and when they prepare it, there will be twice as much as usual."
When God is your SUPPLY you'll never run DRY.
[Philippians 4:19 CSB] And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
God may not give us what we need for TOMORROW but He will definitely give us what we need for TODAY.
[Matthew 6:31-34] "So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' [32] These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. [33] Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. [34] "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.
Jesus is the BREAD of Life.
[John 6:48-51] Yes, I am the bread of life! [49] Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. [50] Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die. [51] I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh."
God wants you to trust in the PROVIDER not the PROVISION.
