[Philippians 3:18-19] For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. [19] They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth.

Biblical fasting always focuses on SPIRITUAL purposes.

Fasting strengthens your CONNECTION with God.

[Matthew 5:6 NIV] Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

We GIVE things up so that we can SYNC up our lives to Jesus.

[Hebrews 11:6] And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

When you fast, your FLESH weakens and your SPIRIT strengthens.

[Proverbs 10:3 NET] The LORD satisfies the appetite of the righteous, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.

Stop trying to satisfy a CRAVING that only God can fill.

[Matthew 16:24] Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Our goal shouldn't be to get God to BLESS our will, but to get us ALIGNED with His will.

You can either control your CRAVINGS or they will CONTROL you.
