Hope In Trouble

Sermon Note

We should always stand strong in the face of OPPOSITION.

[1 Thessalonians 1:6-10] So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way, you imitated both us and the Lord. [7] As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Greece--throughout both Macedonia and Achaia. [8] And now the word of the Lord is ringing out from you to people everywhere, even beyond Macedonia and Achaia, for wherever we go we find people telling us about your faith in God. We don't need to tell them about it, [9] for they keep talking about the wonderful welcome you gave us and how you turned away from idols to serve the living and true God. [10] And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God's Son from heaven--Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.

There is no fear of JUDGEMENT when our faith is in Jesus.

[Acts 1:9-11] After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him. [10] As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. [11] "Men of Galilee," they said, "why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!"

Jesus gives us HOPE for tomorrow.

I have CONFIDENCE that Jesus is coming again.

[Mark 13:32] “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. [33] And since you don’t know when that time will come, be on guard! Stay alert!

Do SOMETHING for the Kingdom of God while you wait for Jesus to come back!

[Acts 4:12] There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved."

God is not only the God of TODAY, but He is the God of TOMORROW.
