Just Trust
Sermon Note
Faith is being CONVINCED that something is TRUE.
[Hebrews 11:1 NIV] Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Faith is the most POWERFUL force known to man.
Every great achievement BEGAN with someone who BELIEVED that it could happen.
[Matthew 17:20] "You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."
Mountains only move when people believe it is POSSIBLE.
[2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV] For we live by faith, not by sight.
We are to be people of FAITH not people of SIGHT.
[Romans 4:1-3] Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God? [2] If his good deeds had made him acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about. But that was not God's way. [3] For the Scriptures tell us, "Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith."
We are made RIGHT with God when we TRUST in Him.
Faith that doesn't change my LIFE cannot change my SOUL.
[Hebrews 11:6] And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
A RELATIONSHIP with God starts simply with trust.
[Romans 10:9-10] If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
