Only Jesus

Sermon Note

Jesus came to be the SOLUTION to our sin. 

[John 14:4-6] And you know the way to where I am going." [5] "No, we don't know, Lord," Thomas said. "We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?" [6] Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Jesus is not ONE way to God; He is the ONLY way.

[John 1:29] The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Only Jesus can make us RIGHT with God.

[1 Timothy 2:5-6] For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity--the man Christ Jesus. [6] He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

Jesus didn't point to RULES, He pointed to Himself.

Jesus offers freedom to EVERYONE! 

[Hebrews 9:11-12] So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. [12] With his own blood--not the blood of goats and calves--he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.

Jesus' SACRIFICE made it possible for us to be made right with God.

[Romans 6:23] For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus offers us a new BEGINNING, a new LIFE, and a new hope.

[2 Corinthians 5:17] This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
