The Treasure and The Pearl

Sermon Notes

Parables are seemingly SIMPLE stories that have PROFOUND meaning to them.

Matthew 13:44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

Matthew 13:45-46 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Finding the kingdom of heaven is like finding the MOST valuable thing you could think of for a greater DEAL than you could ever imagine and CLOSER at hand that you could ever think.

1 Kings 19:20-21 (ESV) 20  And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, “Let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?” 21  And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him.

Our salvation is MORE important and has greater VALUE than we could ever comprehend.

God MUST have precedence over everything in our lives.

Spend time seeking TRUE treasure.
