Death Fulfilled

[Isaiah 53:3-5] He was despised and rejected--a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. [4] Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! [5] But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.

The Messiah would come and SUFFER for us.

[John 19:6-7] When they saw him, the leading priests and Temple guards began shouting, "Crucify him! Crucify him!" "Take him yourselves and crucify him," Pilate said. "I find him not guilty." [7] The Jewish leaders replied, "By our law he ought to die because he called himself the Son of God."

Even ENEMIES of Jesus were unknowingly fulfilling prophecy.

[Psalm 22:16-18] My enemies surround me like a pack of dogs; an evil gang closes in on me. They have pierced my hands and feet. [17] I can count all my bones. My enemies stare at me and gloat. [18] They divide my garments among themselves and throw dice for my clothing.

Jesus was willing to take WORST PAIN on our behalf.

[John 19:23-24] When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided his clothes among the four of them. They also took his robe, but it was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom. [24] So they said, "Rather than tearing it apart, let's throw dice for it." This fulfilled the Scripture that says, "They divided my garments among themselves and threw dice for my clothing." So that is what they did.

Only Jesus could predict his own DEATH.

[Matthew 20:18-19] "Listen," he said, "we're going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die. [19] Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified.

When Jesus said, “It is FINISHED,” the price for your SIN was paid.

[Proverbs 18:10] The name of the LORD (YHWH) is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.

YHWH: Behold the HAND. Behold the NAIL.

Jesus death was not some tragic ACCIDENT, It was a deliberate act of LOVE.

[Matthew 20:19b] But on the third day he will be raised from the dead.
